Do you echo? Do you? Echo?

If you are a writer, or want to be a writer, is it a good idea to be in a support group of fellow writers? If you are not, I can anticipate some of your objections or reluctance to join in with other writers. You might think you'll be the worst writer in the group, you'll be looked down on, you'll have that corrosive self-doubt, and/or you'll be sensitive about sharing something deeply important to you.

So, should you participate? I think so, and here's why. Every writer has blind spots, whether it's Stephen King or you, and it is helpful to be among other writers who can assist you in avoiding those blind spots. Mine is what they call 'echo,' and that is repeating the same word or phrase. I do it all the time.

So, go ahead and take that leap. I belong to two very different writers' groups, and in the next two weeks, I'll go into some detail about each one. In the meantime, just keep writing. You have it in you.
