With all this GOAT stuff going on (Greatest Of All Time), I find myself questioning some of the individuals who decide who the GOATS are. Tom Brady in football? Probably. Michael Jordan in basketball? Possibly, although I have a soft spot for Wilt Chamberlain (averaged over fifty points, had fifty-five rebounds in one game, scored one hundred points in a single game). Wayne Gretzky in hockey? I don't care about hockey.
So I got to thinking about my greatest moments of sheer happiness, and realized there have been lots. When my (now) long-suffering wife accepted my proposal of marriage, the births of two outstanding daughters, my first paycheck as a writer (and first novel's publication) all ring true. I guess that's why I'm simply a happy guy.
