I rarely write about politics, but this blog is not about politics. It is about me. Up until recently I could grow quite angry with politicians with whom I vehemently disagreed. I called them names when I saw them on TV, and I went about muttering a lot. That was a total waste of time and energy. Do they feel my vehemence? I don't think so. It hurt only me. I finally realized it was pride fostering my vitriol. I mean, I had facts and truth and morality on my side! Yet, I was finally convicted to pray for those figures with whom I disagreed, realizing that they, too, are formed in the image of God. Epiphanies are not always easy, but they can be freeing. And now there's more time to watch Netflix.
