Odie the Wonder Dog, also Certified Therapy Dog, recently visited at the shelter for homeless men. We dropped in after dinner when most of the guys were relaxing, their day mostly done. What is therapeutic is that so many men had smiles on their faces as they petted him and scratched his back and, in some cases, let Odie lick their faces. They grinned and laughed and pretty soon Odie had a crowd around him while Lisa and I answered questions about him, and also listened to some of the men who talked about dogs they had before they were on the street. Some had pictures on their smart phones, photos they eagerly shared with us. The thing is, Odie ministers to those men, and Lisa and I get the benefit. Hard to explain, but true. He's a good boy!
